IB Candidate School Statement

The British International School and Montessori Education is a Candidate School* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that the British International School and Montessori Education believe is important for our students.

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP). IB Mission Statement

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission as a school is to “follow the child to greater heights”. We prepare learners to become global citizens and to succeed in an ever-changing world. We will ensure that our learners understand the impact of being able to contribute positively to society through the provision of a quality and sound education. We will also ensure that our learners develop practical skills and theoretical knowledge that are essential for leadership and support them in understanding shifts in our global economy and our world.
